摘要
The LCL-LCL compensated topology is one of the most widely accepted topologies for bidirectional wireless power transfer applications, due to its symmetrical primary and secondary side compensation structures and load-independent resonance characteristics. However, existing tuning of this topology can provide only constant current (CC) characteristics at the output. Also, the inverter current in LCL-LCL topology has a very high degree of lower order harmonic content, which leads to higher VA loading on the inverter and voltage and current stress on the associated components. In addition, the rectifier side input current is discontinuous, which leads to higher diode loss. This article proposes a novel design of LCL-LCL topology that provides both CC and CV (constant voltage) characteristics at two different frequencies. Moreover, it shows 15–20 times lesser harmonic content at the inverter output than the conventional design and provides a continuous rectifier input current. The performance of the proposed design is verified using PSIM simulation. A 300 W scaled-down experimental prototype has been built to demonstrate improved harmonic performance and continuous rectifier input current profile under both CC and CV modes for the proposed design.
