摘要
Kidneys are innervated by renal nerves rather than the vagus. Adrenergic fibers in renal arteries are about seven times more than cholinergic fibers. Renal vasoconstriction is regulated by norepinephrine and adrenergic fibers rather than acetylcholine or cholinergic fibers. Renal blood flow is regulated by renal sympathetic nerves and is not affected by the vagus. These findings provide anatomical and functional evidence for renal autonomic innervation in normotensive and hypertensive rats.
