Ammonia is increasingly deemed a significant, green sustainable fuel which requires a large number of detection devices. In this study, ultrathin AuNWs/PEDOT:PSS Janus films had been prepared with ultrathin AuNWs film treated with H2S which could integrate with PEDOT:PSS film closely. The resulting transparent and flexible Janus film sensor showed the good response and selectivity performance to ammonia gas. Moreover, the sensitivity of Janus film devices to ammonia was greatly improved and the conductivity of the Janus films was kept well with increasing thermal annealing temperature. The limit detection for NH3 was 500 ppb concentration and the improvement mechanism of the sensing performance was attributed to the increased surface area of conductive polymer. This method provides a universal platform to integrate different materials into Janus films and prepare next-generation flexible detection sensors.
