摘要
• The blue-emissive carbon dots have been successfully synthesized from Hylocereus polyrhizus peels. • The peel-off mask (POM) with CDs demonstrated significant UV-blocking efficacy. • Physicochemical and sensory evaluations revealed that the POM provided exceptional UV protection, enhanced homogeneity, spreadability, and user satisfaction. • By utilizing agricultural waste, this research aligns with sustainability goals, offering an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional UV-blocking agents. This study investigates the formulation, characterization, and subjective evaluation of peel-off masks incorporating Carbon Dots from Hylocereus polyrhizus peels. Photo analysis confirmed the photoluminescent properties of CDs and formulated masks. The SPF of the masks (8.104 - 9.090). All formulations exhibited a pH between 4.6 and 5.6, possessed good homogeneity, with viscosities between 14,300 and 22,500 cPs, drying times between 25.05 and 30.01 minutes, and spreadability of 5.4 to 6.3 cm. Subjective testing indicated that the F3 formulation is favorable. CDs synthesized from red dragon fruit peel were effectively incorporated in peel-off masks, offering significant UV-blocking properties and user acceptability.
