Comment on “Noble gas decorated planar tetracoordinate oxygen” by K. Sarmah, F. Yashmin, A. Das, L.-X. Bai, J.-C. Guo and A. K. Guha, Phys. Chem. Chem. Phys. , 2025, 27 , 10923

Revisiting the PES of ONg 4 2+ (Ng = He, Ne), we found that the global minimum is a triplet resembling the structure proposed by Hogreve 22 years ago. This study highlights the need to explore different electronic states in the study of PES.
