Clinical application of personalized biodegradable anastomotic stent via preoperative intestinal three-dimensions reconstruction in laparoscopic resection of rectal cancer

Core Tip: Personalized biodegradable anastomotic reinforcement stents designed according to preoperative three-dimensional intestinal reconstruction parameters provide individualized mechanical support after laparoscopic anterior resection for rectal cancer.This study demonstrated that the stents accelerated postoperative bowel function recovery, reduced anastomosis-related complications and postoperative inflammatory responses, and improved long-term anorectal function.These findings suggest that 5 / 26 patient-specific biodegradable reinforcement may represent a promising strategy for enhancing anastomotic healing and improving surgical outcomes in rectal cancer.
