Proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) with metal bipolar plates has many problems for commercial application such as an increase of contact resistance of bipolar plates due to growth of passive film. In this study, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) was employed to evaluate PEMFC performance. The EIS of PEMFC was successfully measured and can be explained by simple electrical equivalent circuit. It was found that using impedance at high frequency, the contact resistance can be evaluated.
