Influence of Light Intensity on Effective Chemical Contents of Epimedium koreanum Nakai

Effective compositions of wild Epimedium koreanum Nakai showed that the content of flavonide and icariin was higher under intensive light than that in faint light during the growing season, and the difference reached the maximum in August 3. In intensive light, the content of total flavonide was 2.65 times higher than in faint light ,and the content of icariin was 6.93 times higher. Therefore, light intensity directly influenced medicine quality of the plant. Moreover, the content of icariin declined more quickly than that of total flavonide in different phonological phases.
