Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of budesonide combined with montelukast in the treatment of children with postinfectious cough.Methods One hundred and fifty cases were selected according to the diagnostic criteria of postinfectious cough,and they were randomly divided into three groups.Children in control group were treated with ketotifen and mixture brown,budesonide treatment group were given budesonide inhalation based on the treatment of the control group,children in combined treatment group were given oral montelukast based on the treatment of the Budesonide treatment group.The efficacy of the three groups was evaluated at the 3rd and 7th day.Results There was no statistically significant differences of the cough score between combined treatment group and budesonide treatment group at the 3rd day(P0.05),but it was lower than that of the control group(P0.05).The cough score of the combination theatment group was lower than that of the budesonide treatment group at the 7th day,and lower than that of the control group(P0.05).The total efficacy rate of the combination therapy group was 88% at the 7th day,it was higher than that of the Budesonide treatment group(74%) and the control group(52%),P0.05.Conclusion Budesonide and montelukast combination therapy can be effective to control the clinical symptoms of postinfectious cough in children.
