Tensile tests for nickel saving austenitic stainless steels with different Cu contents were performed at high temperatures by Gleeble-3800 thermo-mechanical simulator, and the microstructure near the tensile fracture and the thermoplasticity were analyzed and studied. The results show that the thermoplasticity of the austenitic stainless steels were fairly good during 1 150-1 250 ℃.With the increase of Cu content, the thermoplasticity of austenitic stainless steels decreased. The content and shape of ferrite had a great impact on the thermoplasticity of the steels. The increase of ferrite content and network ferrite made the thermoplasticity decreased significantly.
