SATELLITE MEASURING FOR OCEAN PRIMARY PRODUCTIVITY

Ocean Primary Productivity (OPP) is defined as the photosynthetic rate of ocean plankton under sunshine. The satellite measuring for OPP is commonly known as unique way to help us understanding the time_space distribution of OPP in the globel ocean. In the paper, the key problems concerning the satellite measuring for OPP will be discussed including the technical reguirements of ocean color satellite, primary productivity calculation, as well as calibration and validation of scientific data from satellite senor. In addition, will be given the sensors technical characteristics equipped on ocean color satellites launched in the past and near future.
