Study on Optical Signal Processor by Using FP-SOA in Optical Packet Switching

In optical packet switching,three kinds of functions including the separation of label and payload, optical power equalization and Time to Live(TTL)are realized by using Fabry-Perot Semiconductor Optical Amplifier(FP-SOA).In the application of separating the label and payload,narrow pulses and wide pulses are suppressed to 10.5 dB and 9 dB,respectively.In the realization of damping the optical power,optical power variations are reduced from 10 dB to 1.6 dB.In the function of TTL,6 dB power extinction ratio is enhanced to 14.5 dB.
