Objective To summarize the experience of diagnosis and treatment of ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO) with Anderson-Hynes technique. Methods The clinical data of 60 patients with UPJO were retrospectively analyzed.Of the patients,40 had ureteropelvic junction stricture,12 had high ureteropelvic junction,5 were caused by compression of aberrant blood vessels and 3 by compression of fibre cables. All the 60 patients underwent Anderson-Hynes dismembered pyeloplasty. Results The patients were followed up from 6 to 36 months,58 (96.7%) patients recovered or their hydronephrosis relieved distinctly,1(1.7%) patient had no significant changes,1(1.7%) patient became more serious than before. Conclusion Anderson-Hynes dismembered pyeloplasty is an effective method for the treatment of ureteropelvic junction obstruction.
