Diagnostic value of ultrasound-guided coarse needle biopsy in thyroid nodules

Objective To study the diagnostic value of ultrasound-guided coarse needle biopsy in thyroid nodules.Methods 68 patients with thyroid nodules accepted ultrasound-guided coarse needle biopsy.Results It was successful that coarse needle biopsy was used in all 68 cases including 11 cases of mutinodular goiter,33 cases of single goiter,8cases of Hshimoto's thyroiditis,8 cases of subacute thyroiditis,5 cases of thyroid adenoma and 3 cases of thyroid carcinoma,without any complication occurred.Conclusion Ultrasound-guided coarse needle biopsy is a simple,safe and economic method in diagnosis of thyroid nodules.
