Investigation on Immunomodulatlng Activities of Rice Bran Polysaccharides in Mice

Hot water-soluble crude polysaccharide (HWSRBP), cool water-soluble crude poly-saccharide (LWSRBP),Alkaline-soluble crude polysaccharide (ASRBP) and Alkaline-insoluble crude polysaccharide (AISRBP) were obtained from defatted rice bran. As compared with the control group, WSRBP and ASRBP had significant stimulating effects on all indexes such as the Spleen index; Thymus index; T lymphocyte proliferation induced by Con A; the phagocytosis function of ma-crophages abdominal cavities by oral administration in natural mice. The result indicated that rice bran polysaccharides WSRBP and ASRBP have imunomodulating functions in animals and can be used as a supplement for immune enhancement system.
