The contents of benzene in air of molding workshop,sewing workshop and mixing room of a shoe factory were determined by thermal desorption gas chromatography.Air samples were collected with active carben tubes and heated with thermal desorptioner;benzene was desorbed with nitrogen;analysis with gas chromatography FID detector.The results showed that when the sample volume was 10L,the average desorption efficiency was 97.5%; precision and sensitivity were higher. this method is applicable to determination of the concentration of benzene in the workplace.The benzene concentration of this three places are in line with national standards.
