ABSTRACT MXenes, a family of emerging two‐dimensional materials offer enriched surface chemistry, high electrical conductivities, large specific surface area, intrinsic physicochemical properties, and excellent mechanical stability. However, restacking of MXene sheets limit their electrochemical performance. To overcome this limitation, recent advancements have focused on developing MXene composites with metal phosphates/phosphides (MXene/MPs). This review discusses the applications of MXene/MPs composites in energy storage and conversion applications. The incorporation of MPs into MXenes not only addresses the restacking issue and aggregation problems, but also enhances the overall electrochemical performance of energy storage and conversion systems. The review concludes with a summary of the current research status and future prospects for MXene/MPs‐based composites in energy applications.
