Filial piety is an honorable moral standard shared by Japan and China. The discourse about filial piety in China went to Japan in the 6th or 7th century, together with China’s Buddhism, Confucianism and secular culture. It now has been deeply rooted in Japanese culture, and been a part of it. This paper, while comparing the differences of China’ filial culture and Japan’s, intends to discuss the characteristics and origin of Japanese“Filial Culture”.
