1-Thioisoflavanones and related compounds

Several 1-thioisoflavanones and 1-thioisoflavones have been synthesized. Addition of a thiophenol to atropic acid and cyclization of the resultant thio acids is shown to give rise to a 1-thioisoflavanone. Some reactions of these compounds are described.
