Observation on the clinical effect of β-ray application therapy in treatment for infantile hemangioma

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of 32P and 90Y radionuclide in the treatment for infantile hemangioma of the skin.Methods 32P and 90Y radionuelide were applied in a short distance to treat different kinds of infantile hemangioma with total doses from 10-25Gy at intervals of 2-3 months.The therapeutic effects were observed and managed accordingly.Results The total effective rate in 172 patients treated with 32P was 89.5％,and that in 110 patients treated with 90Y was 78.2％.Compared with other types of hemangioma,the effective rate of strawberry hemangioma treated with 32P was 94.3％.Conclusion 32P and 90Y application may be safe and effective with less complication for the treatment of infantile hemangioma,especially,in strawberry hemangioma treated with 32P.But in the process of application,doses should be severely restricted.
