Early identification of patients with severe influenza-associated aspergillosis (IAA) in the intensive care unit——an IAA prediction score system (Asper-PreSS)

•Delayed diagnosis of IAA leads to delayed antifungal therapy and increased mortality. •The Asper-PreSS model is for more rapid diagnosis and treatment. •The model included seven variables and with the total score of nine points: systemic steroid accumulation> 200 mg (score 2), dry rales (score 2), refractory fever after 3 days of antibiotic therapy (score 1), CD4+T cell count< 200/μl (score 1), necessity for RRT (score 1), and CT manifesting multiple nodules (score 1) or halo signs (score 1).
