摘要
Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), encompassing substances like alcohols, ketones, aldehydes, and others, pose a significant threat to the natural environment and human health as harmful micromolecules. Given their immense diversity, quantitative analysis of VOCs often poses a challenging task. In this discussion, we will first embark on a comprehensive overview of the perils posed by VOCs.Furthermore, we delve into the various methodologies used for VOCs detection, providing detailed descriptions of traditional analytical techniques、Spectral detection technology and sensor technology.Additionally, we explore the potential of Surface-Enhanced Raman spectroscopy. We have examined both the merits and shortcomings of these techniques, offering insights into selecting the most efficient approach for swift and precise VOCs detection. This comprehensive analysis aims to guide researchers and practitioners in choosing the right methodology for their specific needs. Finally, we look ahead at the future prospects for VOCs detection across the entire detection industry. With advancements in technology and the ever-growing demand for environmental monitoring, the potential for innovation in VOCs detection is immense. • Critical comparison of chromatography, spectroscopy, and sensor-based methods highlights strengths and limitations of VOCs detection. • SERS enables portable, sensitive, and real-time on-site VOCs analysis.
