Efficient production of methanol and diols via the hydrogenation of cyclic carbonates using copper–silica nanocomposite catalysts

Copper–silica nanocomposite catalysts have been found to be highly efficient and stable in the heterogeneous hydrogenation of CO 2 -derived cyclic carbonates to give methanol and diols under relatively mild conditions.
