Objective: To develop the determination method of astrogaloside in vanillin phosphoric acid system by spectrophotofluorimetry. Methods: Vanillin was used as colour developing reagent in the presence of phosphoric acid. Results: The complex of astrogaloside and vanillin had excitation and emission maxima at 365 and 430 nm , respectively. The linear range of determination was from 0.0 to 20.0 mg·L -1 . The detection limit was 0.106 mg·L -1 . The recoveries of samples were between 95.97% and 102.1 %. Conclusion: The proposed method has advantages of low detection limit without interference. It has been used to determine several kinds of samples successfully.
