Biological activity of ningnanmycin on tobacco mosaic virus

The effect of Ningnanmycin on tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) was studied. The preventing effect on TMV disease was about 58.41% when Ningnanmycin was applied 5 days after the inoculation of TMV. The treating effect on TMV disease by Ningnanmycin at a concentration of 150～200 μg/mL was about 84.96% when Ningnanmycin was sprayed 1 day after the inoculation of TMV. TMV was deactivated by Ningnanmycin at a rate of about 83.19% when inoculated solution of TMV was treated with 200 μg/mL Ningnanmycin for 45 min. Fig 1, Tab 3, Ref 15
