π‐Complexes of Phenylborazines with Tetracyanoethylene

Abstract The π‐complexes formed by tetracyanoethylene with several phenylborazines were investigated by the spectrophotometric method. The charge transfer band frequencies were compared with those of the tetracyanoethylene complexes of hexamethylborazine and of appropriately substituted benzene derivatives. Steric and electronic effects on the frequencies are discussed.
