摘要
The use of 18F-Fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (FDG-PET) is increasingly growing in the assessment of fever of unknown origin (FUO) in solid organ transplant recipients due to its high sensitivity and ability to detect complications such as infection, post-transplant lymphoproliferative disease, malignancy, and also graft rejection. However, experience in pancreatic transplant is scarce and interpretation of FDG-PET images can be challenging due to postsurgical anatomic changes and immunosuppressive therapy. Evidence remains limited regarding FDG uptake patterns distinguishing inflammation from rejection in early post-transplant evaluation. We describe distinct uptake patterns from patients who recently underwent simultaneous pancreas-kidney (SPK) transplantation and FUO.
