摘要
Universal side milling head is an important accessory of NC milling machine in machining center. Its structure and performance largely determine the performance of the whole machine tool. At present, the angle adjustment range of universal milling head is small and the center of gravity is not on the main axis of the machine tool, which seriously affects the milling accuracy. Through investigation and scheme analysis, a NC universal side milling head which is adjustable in the range 0~120 degree is designed. The structure is driven by bevel gear and spur gear, and connected with the spindle by BT40 tool shank and pull rod. Its C-axis is indexed by clutch and rat tooth disc. A-axis is indexed by forward and reverse rotation of high-torque magnetic servo motor and deceleration drive of worm wheel and worm. The requirement of universal NC machining can be achieved, which will provide some reference for the research of universal milling head.
