摘要
Nowadays new class of two-dimensional materials called MXenes has fascinated enormous attention in a range of applications because of the availability of numerous active sites, metallic conductivity, tunable surface chemistry, and outstanding stability. These characteristics, as mentioned above make MXene as best advanced gas and volatile organic compound (VOC) detection material. Due to the presence of advanced properties like convenient solution processibility, high flexibility, and easy functionalization process, MXenes have opened the door to making their composite with other materials for detection applications. In this chapter, we have focused on the recent research and advancement of MXene-based polymer composites for the detection of hazardous gases, VOCs, and water remediation. Also, in this chapter, we have covered the synthesis of MXenes, the properties of Mxene and finally, their application for detection gases, heavy metals, and biomolecules.
