摘要
The study was an attempt to correlate polymer structure to its activity in water treatment applications. Copolymers of acrylic acid with N-(hydroxymethyl)-, N-(2-hydroxyethyl)-, and N-(2-hydroxypropyl) acrylamide were prepared. The resulting acrylic acid/N-(hydroxyalkyl) acrylamide copolymers were evaluated for their deposit control and dispersant activities as compared to the homopolymer of acrylic acid. Differences in the activities could be attributed to the incorporation of the N-hydroxylalkylacrylamide moiety into the polymer chain.
