Mathematical modeling of the determining azimuth process for inclinometric systems for small incline angles

The problem of increasing the precision of azimuth direction measurement by inclinometric systems (IS) at inclined-directional drilling of oil and gas wells inclined in small angles of about 0...5 degrees are considered. The data of the purpose and traditional structural implementation of inclinometric systems are presented. Instrumental error sources of inclinometric systems are defined. Mathematical models of the 3-component ferro-probe azimuth transducer are considered; the models of azimuth determination error are presented. Azimuth determination errors are estimated in case of the IS downhole tool orientation close to vertical using the known methods of its calculation. Dominating factors are defined, which affects the resulting value of instrumental error of azimuth definition. Mathematical models for azimuth definition are being developed, which exclude the sighting angle usage as carrying in the greatest contribution to resulting error of azimuth angle definition.
