Abstract Purpose To illustrate the value of electroretinography in clinical practice. Methods A case presentation format will be used to illustrate how pattern electroretinography, full‐field flash electroretinography and multifocal electroretinography can be used in clinical practice. Results As will be shown by the cases to be discussed, each of the electroretinography techniques has a specific role to play in making a better diagnosis. Conclusion All electroretinography techniques have a specific role to play in the evaluation of retinal disease.
