Microstructures and Residual Stresses of TiAl -Based Intermetallic Alloys

A series of fine duplex microstructures of TiAl-based intermetallic alloys have been obtained by various heat treatments. The residual stresses of different microstructures were evaluated using X-ray diffraction technique. It was found that the residual stresses change with the microstroctures and the volume fraction of a2 phase.
