Best buy interventions to address the burden of steatotic liver disease

At the 66th World Health Assembly in 2013, WHO Member States adopted a resolution setting an ambitious global target of a 25% relative reduction in premature mortality from non-communicable diseases (NCDs) along the cardiometabolic and respiratory spectrums by 2025.1 It is unfortunate, but not puzzling, that we remain nowhere near this target. We believe one of the missing pieces is hidden in plain sight: the failure to address the full metabolic system and, therefore, the neglect of the full spectrum of metabolic dysfunction-associated diseases.
