摘要
Nickel iron hydroxide is one of the most effective nonnoble metal oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalysts in alkaline electrolytes. In this study, NiFe(OH)x electrode was electrodeposited on Ni mesh under large current density (500 mA cm−2) in short time (6 s), which is flower-like nanosheets. The as-prepared electrode is subsequently employed as the anode for the OER reaction, exhibiting overpotentials of 204 and 256 mV at the current density of 10 and 100 mA cm−2, respectively. In the overall water splitting cell with a NiFe(OH)x anode, a NiFeSn cathode and 6 M KOH electrolyte, the cell voltage is 1.96 V initially and increases 60 mV at a current density of 500 mA cm−2 in 100 h, and it is 2.34 V and increases 110 mV at 1000 mA cm−2 in 45 h.
