Measurement of the Antiradical Efficiency of Proanthocyanidin in Seabuckthorn Seed by the DPPH·Assay

Objective To study the antioxidant activities of proanthocyanidin in seabuckthorn seed in vitro.Methods The efficiency of antioxidant and antiradical of the proanthocyanidin extracted in seabuckthorn seed was determined by the DPPH·assay.Results The ability of antioxidant and antiradical of the proanthocyanidin in seabuckthorn seed was slightly lower than those of Vc.EC50(50% the initial DPPH·concentration) of the proanthocyanidin from seabuckthorn seed and Vc was 93.0,70.3g/kg DPPH·respectively,and the antiradical efficiency was 0.0107 and 0.0142.Conclusion The proanthocyanidin extracted from seabuckthorn seed has the antioxidant activity.
