This chapter deals with hydroamination reactions catalyzed by s-block metal reagents or complexes and focuses on the intramolecular hydroamination of alkenes. Together with a short comparison to transition metal and rare earth elements, this review is meant to summarize recent advances in group 1 and 2 hydroamination catalysis, including enantioselective reactions, to yield valuable nitrogen-containing heterocycles in an atom-efficient catalytic step.
