A simulation of battery energy consumption in the Tsing Hua electric vehicle

The purpose of this paper is to describe the simulation of the Tsing Hua electric vehicle based on a given driving pattern. The driving pattern in Taipei was chosen as an example. From this pattern, a power drain model was developed and thus the vehicle range and energy consumption were estimated. A good agreement between the predicted and experimental results is achieved. Furthermore, the effect of stops‐starts on the vehicle range was also studied by using the same method.
