Progress in studies on LiNi_xCo_(1-x)O_2 cathode materials for lithium-ion battery

Lithium-ion battery is becoming the hot topic of research because of its high operating voltage, high energy density, large capacity and long cyclic life. Research and development of LiNi_xCo_1-xO_2 cathode materials for lithium-ion battery were reviewed. The relation between structure and electrochemical properties were described, it shows that the electrochemical properties can be influenced by the ratio of n_Ni/n_Co. By the way, the synthetic methods and their characteristic were described. The influence factors and the future of LiNi_x-Co_1-xO_2 cathode materials for lithium-ion battery were also introduced.
