Logistic regression analysis of superficial radiotherapy after resection for keloid

Objective To investigate the optimal opportunity for superficial radiotherapy after resection of keloid,and investigate the influenceing factors of recurrence.Methods 105 cases with keloid removing operation were analysed by the superficial radiotherapy effects.Analysed the sex,age,the location of pathological changes,size of keloid,infection and radiotherapy opportunity with the relationship of keloid recurrence.Results After 2-6 days operation,the effective rates of radiotherapy was 93.1%;After 7~10 days operation,the effective rates was 65.3%,the differences had statistical significant;The multi-factor logistic regression analysis selected that the factor influencing the keloid recurrence was radiotherapy time and size of keloid.Radiotherapy time OR=3.82(P0.05),Dummy variable 1 of pathological size OR=5.36(P0.05),Dummy variable 2 of pathological size OR=8.69(P0.5).Conclusion After keloid removing operation,the superficial radiotherapy performed on day 2 to day 6 was an effective way to prevent the recurrence of keloid.Recurrence of keloid was possible correlated with the keloid pathological size.
