Progress on Synthesis and Application of Dimethyl Carbonate

Synthesis routes of dimethyl carbonate were reviewed. Progress on preparation of diphenyl carbonate and isocyanates(MDI,HDI)were introduced when dimethyl carbonate was substituted for phosgene. It provides significative reference for clean process if dimethyl carbonate was substituted for toxic substamles such as phosgene and dimethyl sulphate.
