Objective To explore adrenomedullin(ADM) in the uterine sarcoma and its relationship with angiogenesis and prognosis. Methods Adrenomedullin expression and microvessel density(MVD) were detected through immunohistochemical staining in normal myometrium(20 cases),uterine leiomyoma(30 cases),uterine sarcoma(46 cases). Results ①The significant difference was showed between adrenomedullin expression in uterine leiomyoma and normal myometrium, between adrenomedullin expression in uterine sarcoma and uterine leiomyoma(P0.01,P0.05);②The difference of MVD mean was statistically significant(P0.01)between high expression ADM group and low expression group;ADM expression in uterine sarcoma was positively correlated with MVD(P0.05);③In uterine sarcoma,ADM expression was positively correlated with mitotic activity, and poor prognosis. Conclusion Adrenomedullin is an important regulator of uterine sarcoma angiogenesis factor, may become a new indicator for the prognosis of patients with uterine sarcoma, and may provide new molecular targets for antiangiogenic therapy of uterine sarcoma.
