Objective: To investigate the alveolar bone remodeling during tooth intrusion with Damon3 brackets and conventional brackets in beagle dogs.Methods: 6 young adult beagle dogs were chosen.The upper right lateral incisor was intruded with Damon3 or MBT brackets respectively.The dogs was sacrificed after 7,14 and 28 days respectively.The upper right lateral incisors and their surrounding tissues were dissected.HE staining was conducted for tissue survey.Results: Through the experimental period,the response of periodontal tissue to orthodontic force was active in self-ligating brackets groups,osteoclasts and alveolar bone remodeling in self-ligating bracket groups were more than those in the MBT groups.Conclusion: It was suggested that the activity of bone remodeling with the Damon3 brackets was higher than that with the conventional brackets in beagle dogs.
