Complement cascade activation by cranial radiotherapy for brain cancers mediates radiation-induced neuroinflammation, synaptic loss, and cognitive dysfunction that can be alleviated by inhibiting the complement C5a-C5aR1 signaling axis, providing a tractable therapeutic approach.
