The particleboards produced for general purpose are principally used in interior parts of gathered living buildings. They can be subjected to fire and biological vermin's these living buildings (dormitory, rest home etc.). These boards used in these buildings are necessary to be resistance to fire. That can be achieved by addition of fire retardants during the boards are manufactured. For this purpose, boron compounds, such as boric acid and borax, have been used, generally. Boric acid is water-soluble and easily used with other chemicals. Borax (sodium terra borate), which is insecticide, fungicide and fire retardant, can be used with other chemicals and removed by washing.This study includes the determination of physical, mechanical and properties of particleboards manufactured from aspen strands treated with boric acid and borax. In investigation, borax and boric acid were used as 0.5,1% (according to weight of oven dry strand) for each layers. Finally, the results of study were compared with related standards. According to the results, when boric acid and borax were used the rate of low, that didn't have importantly effect on physical and mechanical properties of boards.
