摘要
Traditionally, all vestibular schwannoma (VS) operation require the use of an operating microscope. More recently, the introduction of the exoscope with a 3-dimensional, high-definition (3D, 4K) display system has revolutionized neurosurgical techniques and illumination, benefiting to both neurosurgeons and patients. Herein, we report initial clinical experience using naked-eye 3D 4K exoscope for 2 VS cases using a retrosigmoid approach. Notably, the 4K monitor can automatically recognize the sticker on neurosurgeon’s head to construct subsequent adjustments, which further reduces the level of operation fatigue. Moreover, naked-eye 3D can provide more realistically stereoscopic vision and higher definition, which does not need to be filtered through 3D glasses. Through these 2 VS cases, we showed that the naked-eye 3D 4K exoscope is an effective tool for the tumor resection with the advantages of reasonable size, 3D visual perception, wider field of operative view, less cumbersome, and good ergonomics.
