ABSTRACT In recent years, hydrogels have been widely used in the biomedical field as wound dressings. This study presents a safe and efficient temperature‐sensitive hydrogel with red ginseng extract as the main ingredient. The hydrogel was characterized, and its wound healing potential was investigated. Results indicate that the temperature‐sensitive hydrogel loaded with red ginseng extract had a good reticular structure, sustained release properties, and biocompatibility. Subsequently, in vitro experiments confirmed that the temperature‐sensitive hydrogel composed of red ginseng extract, microcrystalline cellulose, and poloxamer possessed good antimicrobial, antioxidant, and hemostatic properties. This hydrogel could effectively promote acute wound healing. The results of H&E and Masson staining showed that the RGE‐Gel promoted epithelial and tissue regeneration and facilitated collagen deposition. Furthermore, RGE‐Gel was found to decrease inflammation by inhibiting inflammatory factors in mice and regulating the expression of endothelial growth factor to enhance wound healing.
