AbstractThe flame spread over a non-planar surface of solid fuel has been studied numerically by the coupled model of heat transfer using the proposed approach for the evaluation of burning surface regression. The boundary conditions for the surface regression rate are formulated by the combination of flame spread modes over the vertical and horizontal surfaces resulted from the staircase shape of the burning surface.
