Therapeutic Immunosuppression Concentrations on Day 0 and the Development of Acute Graft Versus Host Disease (GVHD) in Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT)

Background: Acute graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) is a major impediment to successful allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). Prophylactic immunosuppressive regimens including combinations of tacrolimus and sirolimus have a wide range for therapeutic levels and differ based on institution. Currently, there is no defined relationship between therapeutic immunosuppression levels on day of infusion and the development of acute GVHD.
