Objective To investigate the effects of exercise training on myocardial nitric oxide synthase(NOS) and cell adhesion molecules(CAMs) in rats with hyperlipidemia.Method SD rats were randomly divided into three groups:control group, hyperlipidemia model group and hyperlidiemia and aerobic exercise group. Our study used immunohisto-chemistry of SABC determining the expressions of myocardial eNOS,iNOS,nNOS,ICAM-1 and VCAM-1.Results Comparing with the control group, the expression of myocardial eNOS,iNOS and nNOS were significant reduce and the expression of ICAM-1 and VCAM-1 were significant increase in the rats with hyperlipidemia(P0.05).Comparing with the hyperlipidemia model group, the experssion of myocardial eNOS,iNOS and nNOS were increased significantly and the expression of ICAM-1 and VCAM-1 were reduced significantly in the rats with hyperlipidemia and aerobic exercise. The results showed the expression changes of myocardial eNOS,iNOS,nNOS,ICAM-1 and VCAM-1 in rats with hyperlipidemia were caused by aerobic exercise. Conclusion Hyperlipidemia can downregulate the expression of NOS and upregulate the expression of CAMs;aerobic exercise might protect against the atherogenic effects of hyperlipidemia by upregulating the expressions of NOS and downregulating the CAMs.
